To build bridges in zones of conflict and cultural divide –
Puppet workshop in Summer 2004 for the children of Gaza
In summer 2004, in coordination with the Foundation Hommes de Parole, Eric Deniaud, puppet player from Paris, was sent to Gaza in order to evaluate the possibility to start a cultural project.
The population in Gaza is isolated. But Eric Deniaud met a number of musicians and artists, as well as stage manager and puppet player.
The language barrier disappears as they discover a common language: The puppet! The possibility of creating something together emerges, a ray of hope…
In Summer a little music group for children was started, teaching oud, guitar and flute. The news are promising and optimistic.
A puppet-making workshop took place in Gaza for a number of enthusiastic children. We encourage them to continue.
Let us give hope a real chance!
