Paris: As “la rentrée” starts, some new pupils join the JONAS project

The new school year is always the moment when new pupils join our music project in Paris/France.

The project is located in a district with many challenges – in St. Denis at the Collège Pierre-de-Geyter.

The Fondation Jonas has been active at this Collège for 19 years!

While the situation has changed somewhat during the Covid interruption, this does not stop new pupils from looking forward to participating in the programme.

The animator of the project is Takfarinas Barkou (M.Sc Mathematics, M.A. Music Composition). He offers piano, guitar and percussion. In addition to the music lessons, the students will present what they have learned at their own concerts. There are also plans to attend symphony concerts and other external music projects.

Our warmest thanks go to the headmasters of the Collège who have faithfully supported the JONAS music project: Jacques Lévy, Eric Souève and Stéphane Mercy.
As well as the Principal of the current Collège, Jean-Baptiste Margantin.
Without their tireless support, the project would not be possible.
A big thank you to the Concierge, Madi! His radiance and kindness are a huge help in sometimes difficult situations.
A huge thank you to everyone!

Here is the poster informing about the project throughout the school:
